Dr Joseph D’souza leads many organizations both in India and
internationally. He is eloquent at explaining the need for
freedom of conscience in the world’s largest democracy. He
is one of India’s most prominent global campaigners for the
end of the caste practice and the emancipation of Dalits. He
is particularly concerned about the impact of caste discrimination
on children and women. He has inaugurated a public debate in
India and overseas about the need for eliminating caste within
the church.
Dalit Freedom Network’s mission is to empower the Dalits in their quest for human
dignity, economic development and socio-spiritual freedom. He helped found the
organization, based in the United States, in 2002.
He is a founder and the President of the All India Christian Council (aicc),
which proactively addresses the persecution and oppression of Christians and
other minorities in India.
