After having been in the mission world for nearly four decades, I have seen many incredible joys, as well as the most horrific tragedy.  I have met people in nations all around the world who have seen God’s hand working in magnificent, triumphant ways, but I have also seen the victims of the vilest evil.

There are few absolutes in the world, but this is one—the Bible clearly states that only those who know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour will have eternal life in Heaven. Anyone not making this choice will spend eternity in Hell. These are the facts from the Word of God and they are indisputable

As many of you know, 2008 had a very special focus for us, as wecelebrated 125 years of Bible Society Work in Egypt. Culminating this year was a historic occasion which was far above and beyond what anyone had dared to dream or hope for.

Miles of dark, narrow, alleys meandering here and there, seemingly going nowhere yet going everywhere.  Dirty dogs, cats and rats wandering at will throughout the streets. Ram-shackle homes built from bits and pieces of whatever can be found. Thousands of people, old and very young trying to get by on less than $1.00 per day for a family of 6 or 8.  No work, no future, no purpose, no hope....

I thought I was the furthest person from becoming a missionary, but God had a different plan. It was less than a month since I had decided to follow Christ.
